Luke Antony to Perform at The Lord Mayor's Brisbane Christmas Carols
Ever since I was a child I can remember it being my dream to sing at one of the televised christmas carols with a full orchestra and a choir behind me. I thought that was "making it" and here I am - about to do just that! I'm like a giggly little school girl - I'm so excited!

Presented by the Brisbane City Council with broadcast partner Channel 9 and charity partner Mater Little Miracles, it's time to ring in some festive joy with Brisbane's premier Christmas celebration, the Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols. Featuring some of Australia's most renowned singers, entertainers, celebrities and performers, this magical celebration of Christmas takes place at Brisbane Riverstage on Saturday 9thDecember 2017.
Headline artists this year include, Carols host Rhonda Burchmore, Aria award winning songstress Katie Noonan, ABC KIDS band Lah-Lah, soul diva Paulini, soul-blues singerMahalia Barnes, classical crooner Luke Kennedy, Nebraskan jazz- blues artist Angela Fabian, celebrated singer-songwriter and church leader Darlene Zschech, Opera Queensland's star tenor Virgilio Marino, Opera Australia’s star soprano Julie Lea Goodwin, Jazz chanteuse Emma Pask, The X Factor winner and Australian Eurovision representative Isaiah, The Voice’s Ellen Reed, soul singer and rising star Luke Antony, diversity ambassador and super model Madeline Stuart and from New York City, RnB sensation, Polo.
Guest groups include virtuoso guitar duo theGrigoryan Brothers, Back to Back Gospel, Chukale - Afro Cuban Salsa Ensemble and Camerata – Queensland's Chamber Orchestra. Before the Carols concert enjoy the Westfield Children’s Christmas Spectacular and the summer samba sounds of The View from Madeleine’s Couch.
The concert will feature a symphony orchestra directed and conducted by music industry icon John Foreman (Opening Ceremony Sydney 2000 Olympics & Australian Idol), alongside guest ensembles: Voices of Birralee – Youth Choir, Vocal Manoeuvres Carols Choir and the Carols Dancers.
And of course, Santa will be there too with his merry band of little helpers and some very special guests.
Channel Nine’s weekday evening news anchor Melissa Downes will host a live broadcast Carols segment on Channel Nine onSaturday 9th December from 7pm. For thoseunable to travel into the City, Channel Ninewill live-stream the Carols on the Brisbane Marketing website and televise the concert at3pm on Saturday 23 December and 6am onSunday 24 December.
Patrons are advised to arrive early and arrive together to avoid disappointment. Gates will close when full capacity is reached. Gates open from 4:00pm.

The Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols brings the magic and joy of Christmas to thousands of Queensland families and helps make Mater Little Miracles happen.
